Phillips County 4-H members claim Colorado State Fair honors

    A number of Phillips County 4-H members recently had the opportunity to compete on the state level at the 2018 Colorado State Fair. They qualified by earning unit champion honors at the county fair.

    Ceramics — Lauren Herman, 2nd, reserve unit champion.
    Clothing construction — Anna Jelden, 1st, unit champion; Alexis Nelson, 3rd.
    Food preservation — Taylor Trumper, 4th.
    Foods and nutrition — Cassidy Goodwin, 1st, unit champion; Jessica Owens, 2nd, reserve unit champion; Kylie Donovan, 5th; Elia Wear, 9th and 10th.
    Heritage arts — Leah Struckmeyer, 4th; Nicole Schlachter, 6th.
    Leadership — Isaac Strauss, 3rd; Kylie Donovan, 3rd.
