It’s fair week!

    Residents have been waiting all year for the “Small Town Showdown” at the Phillips County Fair, and it’s finally here! Whether in search of some delicious food, a reunion with friends, fun entertainment or a peek at the new pavilion, Phillips County Fairgrounds is the place to be this week.
    Here’s a breakdown of the schedule:
    — Wednesday, July 25: horse show, 9 a.m.; entry of open class projects, 1-6 p.m.; Thrashers 5K color run, nut fry and beer garden, 5:30 p.m.; ranch rodeo and mutton bustin’, 6 p.m.; and Thrashers corn hole tourney, 8:30 p.m.
    — Thursday, July 26: rabbit and poultry show, 8:45 a.m.; farm mechanics, 1 p.m.; Dutch oven cook-off, 2 p.m.; goat and dairy cow show, catch-it-goat and swine show, 4 p.m.; beer garden, 4 p.m.; and barrel racing, 6 p.m.
    — Friday, July 27: beef show, 9 a.m.; exhibit building open, 9 a.m.; American Ninja Warrior course, noon-8 p.m.; sheep show, 1 p.m.; horseshoe pitching, 1 p.m.; rocket launch expo, 1 p.m.; beer garden, 3 p.m.; parade of champions, press time and rabbit bingo, 4 p.m.; barbecue with entertainment by Equally Delinquent and Colby Purkeypile, 5 p.m.; and Heartland Pulling tractor and truck pull, 7 p.m.
    — Saturday, July 28: parade, 10 a.m.; exhibit building open, 10 a.m.; Orphan Grain Train brat feed, 11 a.m.; kids games, 11 a.m.; American Ninja Warrior course, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; beer garden, noon; cow patty bingo, 12:30 p.m.; salsa contest, 1 p.m.; horseshoe pitching, 1 p.m.; round robin competition, 1 p.m.; junior livestock sale and buyers’ barbecue, 2:30 p.m.; Bulls Gone Wild! and mutton bustin’, 7 p.m.; Lexi Larsen concert and beer garden, 9:30 p.m.
    — Sunday, July 29: community church service, 8:30 a.m.; and premium payout, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
