Harvest starts slowly before a cool, wet weekend

They, along with many in the area, were just getting started with harvest last week. Steve Young of CHS Grainland said Monday morning, July 2, that they had taken in only a handful of loads at that point. It was not a good drying day for the crop Saturday, June 30, as the weather was cloudy and cool, with rain showers in the evening. Young said a couple got started Sunday afternoon, July 1, and he thought they would see harvest pick up Monday afternoon. He anticipates that harvest progress will pick up speed by the end of the week.
