Bennett is Teacher of the Year

    The Department of Colorado Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Auxiliary held their state convention in Thornton from June 13-16. Included in the convention was recognition of Holyoke Elementary School’s own Kimberlee Bennett.
    Each year, Colorado VFW honors a teacher from elementary, middle and high school. Bennett was the 2017-2018 Citizenship Teacher of the Year for elementary.
    To be eligible for the honor, a teacher must first be nominated, then selected as a winner on the district level. Bennett, who was nominated by colleague Lynn Schneider, was honored as the District 4 winner in January.
