Students report from CASB conference

Six HHS students represented the school and community at the student strand of the Colorado Association of School Boards annual convention in Colorado Springs in early December. Senior Tyler Lamm returned to this year’s conference as a facilitator, and five HHS juniors were first-time participants. They are pictured at the conference, from left, Brenna Sullivan, Lamm, Savannah Burris, Kaylee Camblin, Paola Ruiz and Kyra Loutensock. The group reported at the Feb. 27 school board meeting, citing topics that were addressed in small group settings at the conference, including mental health counseling, suicidal issues and outlets for talking, finding passions in a student, post-secondary options, as well as communications and advocacy for the visually and hearing impaired. The group noted that they were pleased to have input for some positive solutions in their group settings, based on their background at HHS.
