Bergner receives FFA grant at NWSS

    At the Jan. 17 FFA Day at the National Western Stock Show, 47 Colorado students received grants from the Colorado FFA Foundation to establish and improve a livestock style Supervised Agricultural Experience program. HHS sophomore and FFA member Lauren Bergner was one of the recipients of $1,500 that she will be using to purchase a heifer.
    Bergner was also introduced to the grant sponsor, Erica Osborn from Animal Health International. The two will communicate throughout the next year, tracking the progress of the project.
    Several area youth also showed livestock throughout the Jan. 6-21 event in Denver.
