Watch for counterfeit $100 bills
Holyoke Police Department has become aware of counterfeit $100 bills that have been circulating in the region (Holyoke, Julesburg, Yuma and Ogallala, Nebraska) within the last two weeks.
The bills appear to have been printed on washed $10 bills. The facial watermark on the right side of the bill shows the face of Alexander Hamilton (first U.S. secretary of the treasury on the $10 bill), and the security strip is marked “ten.”
The bills in the Holyoke area are of the 2006 A series. The markers used to check bills will show that it is a good bill.
