4-H begins summer activities with service project at Ronald McDonald House

Phillips County 4-H members have just barely begun their summer break and are already busy with several 4-H activities.
Tuesday, May 30, nine 4-H members traveled to the Aurora Ronald McDonald House to prepare and serve lunch to house residents.
Phillips County 4-H youth who participated were Janessa Lutze, Rebecca Owens, Morganne Kumm, Drew Stewart, Kylie Donovan, Hunter Donovan, Aly Lock, Brooklyn Plumb and Lauren Bergner. Kindra Plumb, Phillips County 4-H associate, and Jeff Plumb chaperoned the trip.
One of 4-H’s main goals is for all members to learn the importance of community service and helping those in need. This is the second year that Phillips County 4-H members have planned, prepared and served a meal at the Ronald McDonald House.
Once the meal was prepared, 4-H members had the opportunity to join the house residents at their tables. Their conversations ranged from how small Phillips County is to some of the serious illnesses that the house residents’ children are facing.
