Weekend action draws a crowd at PC Raceway
Always at the mercy of the elements, Phillips County Raceway organizers, drivers and fans had to stay flexible last weekend. Changes were made to the huge line up of races scheduled for May 28 in Holyoke, but that didn’t prevent attendees from having an exciting night at the track.
American Sprint Car Series national tour had two Colorado stops slated for the weekend featuring Sammy Swindell. Heavy rain in Calhan Friday night necessitated that races be postponed, so Holyoke’s stop was postponed as well. The races have been rescheduled for the ASCS fall national tour in Calhan Oct. 7 and Holyoke Oct. 8. Swindell is still contracted for both nights.
Despite changes, a full night of racing modifieds, sport compacts, stock cars, sport mods, hobby stocks and dwarfs was held in Holyoke Sunday night.
