FFA earns honors at state CDEs

HHS FFA was well represented at the state Career Development Events competition at Colorado State University in Fort Collins May 1-2. Of the 22 Holyoke members on seven teams competing at the event, 11 brought home individual medals, as did three teams.

The floriculture team placed silver, with Kaylee Camblin earning an individual gold and Savannah Burris bronze. Brenna Sullivan also competed in this event.

In livestock judging, Alex Vieselmeyer earned gold as an individual. Janessa Lutze was another team member.

The veterinary science team earned silver, with Jillian Hunter and Emily Chaney each earning individual silver medals and Rebecca Owens bronze.

The horse judging team earned a bronze medal, with individuals Emma Roll and Taylor Hendrix earning bronze as well. Chase Beckner was also on the team.

In ag mechanics, Tobin Moore and Wyatt McCallum earned individual bronze medals, competing alongside teammates Colby Purkeypile and Holden Redman.

Tristen Roll earned a bronze in crops. Other members in the event included Tyler Camblin and Corben McCallum.

Also competing for Holyoke at the state event were four members in the meats category, Brendan Mayden, Mauro Morales, Gunnar Kroeger and Trent Huffman.
