Ashton Robles, a courtesy worker at Holyoke Marketplace, sets paper and plastic bags into a customer’s trunk Tuesday afternoon. Beginning January, stores and retail establishments with more than three locations in Colorado must charge a fee of 10 cents or higher per bag – whether they be paper or plastic. By January 2024, the state will ban distribution of all single-use bags, with the exception of stores that operate only in Colorado and have fewer than three locations, as well as restaurants that serve take-out. — Andrew Turck | The Holyoke Enterprise
