Originating from her great-grandma Zemanek, Shannon Talich’s rhubarb dessert is a family favorite. “Our family loves it served warm with ice cream!” said Talich. “It is super easy to make and enjoyed by everyone who tries it.”
Rhubarb Dessert
5 cups chopped rhubarb
1 cup sugar (or more, depending on tartness of rhubarb and personal preference)
1 (3-ounce) package cherry Jell-O mix
1/2 package yellow cake mix
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 6x11-inch large loaf pan.
Place rhubarb in bottom of pan. Sprinkle with sugar and Jell-O; top with sprinkled dry cake mix.
Drizzle melted butter over cake mix. Pour 1 cup water over all ingredients in pan.
Bake for 1 hour or until cake begins to turn golden brown.
