Enterprise changing publish day, planning strategic move toward future

The Holyoke Enterprise is announcing a change in publishing day going from Wednesday to Thursday, starting with the June 15 issue. This is a strategy that we see as a solid path for your hometown newspaper. Online subscribers will be able to log in and view their weekly newspaper by Thursday morning. Print subscribers will receive their newspaper a day later than they are currently.

First and foremost, we are adapting to implement this change as we continue to grow as your local media company. We must pivot and embrace new technological changes and deliver news and information across various platforms the way readers want to receive it.

The Enterprise has a rich tradition of covering Holyoke and Phillips County, and we are investing in the High Plains because we care about our local communities. Going forward, our advertising staff will be able to sell colored newspaper ads, and we will offer advertisers a greater audience through social media and new technology. We’ll also increase and introduce new websites and newsletters.

Our editorial staff will continue to inform and educate about community events, the local economy, schools, sports and regional issues every week. We also cover local stories you can’t get anywhere else. In addition, we will combine resources with our company-owned newspapers in Kansas and continue to become more diverse to carry out our core mission: For over 100 years, that has been to report and document the news of Phillips County.

Specifically, we are part of the fabric of Phillips County. We have an office here, we live and pay taxes here, and we shop in Holyoke. Local businesses need your support within our community. We’re one of those local businesses, and we hope you continue to support your hometown newspaper and journalists.

We appreciate your readership!
