Building New Bridges to feature Perfil Norteño June 10

With the first Building New Bridges event being a success and requests for a second event, plans have been underway since March for the second annual Building New Bridges event, sponsored by Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation.

The cultural dance is Saturday, June 10, from 8 p.m.-midnight at the Phillips County Event Center and features Perfil Norteño of Greeley, the well-known band that will get everyone on the floor dancing and enjoying themselves.

The BNB committee consists of co-chairpersons Jessie Ruiz Jr. and Eva Penzing, Linda Alberts, Diana Baeza, Paula Carper, Francisco Cruz, Luz Malpica, Ana Olivas, Abigail Ruiz and Nancy Colglazier.

Last year’s event was well attended in October, but the committee felt like a summer event would have an even better outcome with more people able to attend.  The date was chosen at the beginning of summer to bring all of northeastern Colorado and the Hispanic community together.

The Foundation’s goals with this event are to bring the community together for a wonderful evening of dancing and to raise funds for MMH projects and medical scholarships.

“Melissa Memorial Hospital is very excited to be a part of this event,” said MMH CEO Trampas Hutches. “Last fall’s event was a great step in celebrating our communities through culture.”
