Educators shine at Emerald Awards

A full house gathered at the Peerless Theatre Thursday, April 27, to celebrate the achievements of those pictured from left, Yesenia Bencomo, Leader Among Us; Scott Dille, Heart Award recipient; and Cristine Mallari, Innovator of the Year, at the 2017 Emerald Awards. Between award presentations, HHS sophomores Jessy and Jacky Mosqueda performed “You Raise Me Up” (Josh Groban) accompanied by music teacher Marcia Dalton. The HHS TV productions crew also helped with the program, providing compilation videos to accompany introductions for each award winner, and the Holyoke Enterprise streamed the event live on its Facebook page. A cupcake and cookie reception was held in the multipurpose room following the program.
