Silage for Beef Cattle Conference to be broadcast in Yuma, Burlington

    Calling all livestock producers, feedyard managers, cattle industry nutritionists and farm operators. The Silage for Beef Cattle Conference, hosted by University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension, the Iowa Beef Center and Lallemand Animal Nutrition, will be live-stream broadcast in northeast Colorado on Thursday, June 14.
    This one-day conference is an opportunity for those who produce and manage silage to increase their understanding of effective silage management. Topic areas will include improving the nutritive value of corn silage, minimizing shrink, considerations for utilizing silage in backgrounding and finishing cattle, and accurately pricing the feedstuff, among others.
    Those interested are encouraged to join Colorado State University Extension at one of two locations (Kit Carson County Extension office or Yuma County Fairgrounds) to view the live-streamed conference. The program will start at 7:30 a.m. and wrap up around 3 p.m.
