Pavilion begins being put to use by community

Phillips County got to put its new fairgrounds pavilion to use during this year’s fair in July, but Sept. 11 marked the first day the facility was used for a private event. Both the event center and the pavilion were utilized for last Tuesday’s Purina research farm to ranch cattle VIP experience. Local producers, students and other interested individuals gathered to learn about beef research, rumenology, fetal programming and more. Attendees are pictured in the pavilion for a session on body condition scoring. Though usable, the pavilion is not 100 percent complete. Regardless, the facility is expected to be reserved for a variety of events in the future.
