No cracks in this year’s seal coat program

Holyoke’s annual seal coat program went off without a hitch, according to City Superintendent Mark Brown.

“It went very well,” he said. “There were no major breakdowns or delays.”

He added that although they scheduled three days for the project in case there was bad weather or another delay, crews were able to complete the work in two days from July 20-21.

He said 22 people using about 18 vehicles worked together to complete the project.

Brown said they try to complete 52 blocks each year, and the city’s seal coat goal is to get every paved street in Holyoke done every five years.
