Lisa Ault is new court clerk

Following a 34-year career in the Sedgwick County Department of Human Services, Lisa Ault has transitioned to a new county and a new field. On Oct. 1, she was sworn in as the clerk of the combined courts in Phillips County.

As the director at the department of human services, Ault already has some experience with the court system, and she said that the judicial side always piqued her interest. In her new role, she’s fully immersed in it. Having been on the job for just over a week, Ault has been busy meeting with and learning from court clerks from surrounding counties.

“I’m really excited about this job and the opportunity,” she said, adding that she appreciates people’s patience as she learns its ins and outs.

As the court clerk, Ault will see all types of cases through from beginning to end. She’ll work in the office and in the courtroom for county and district court. She will also serve as the jury commissioner.
