FFA Week sealed with a kiss

Holyoke’s chapter joined in the nationwide celebration of FFA Week Feb. 17-24. Each day, HHS students participated in activities and wore clothing to honor FFA. Windows at the school and businesses around town were decorated in accordance with the celebration as well.
Monday saw students wearing FFA colors, blue and gold. That evening, members were auctioned off at the annual FFA/FCCLA service sale fundraiser.
Students went to school in Western dress Tuesday and competed in the ag olympics at the end of the day. On Wednesday, members wore their official FFA attire and served a teacher appreciation breakfast before school.
HHS was a sight to see Thursday, as tractors were driven to school and students were dressed in their most convincing hillbilly clothes.
Holyoke elementary students got in on the FFA Week action Friday for barnyard day. Elementary classes visited the HHS ag department throughout the day. FFA members, sporting their chapter T-shirts, took turns answering questions and teaching the younger students about a variety of animals, ranging from tiny chicks to horses.
