EMS staff train for on-scene landings

Medical personnel never know what might come their way, so training for anything — unlikely as it may be — is a must. To that end, Holyoke EMS received landing zone training for on-scene landings May 22. If a patient cannot be transported to the hospital first, the AirLife helicopter may have to go directly to the scene. EMS staff on the ground have to be prepared to set up the landing zone, taking into consideration the space, terrain, space and debris. Staff at the May 22 training are pictured from left, Jordan Flaherty, flight nurse Marc, pilot Matt, Jay Rains, Jordan Bernard, Kellie Race, Sheila Robinson and flight nurse Steve. Not pictured is Brady Ring, EMS director.
