Donovan, Walker earn top honors at state fair

Twenty-five general 4-H projects from Phillips County placed at the Colorado State Fair held in Pueblo Aug. 23-Sept. 2.

Kylie Donovan was awarded overall grand champion and first place in leadership, and Megan Walker earned overall reserve grand champion and second place in photography.

Additional awards are as follows:

— Artistic clothing: Taryn Thayer, qualifier.

— Cake decorating: Olivia Stone, fourth.

— Clothing construction: Margaret Kleve, fourth.

— Foods and nutrition: Rebecca Owens, second, reserve unit champion; Lauren Bergner, third; and Jessica Owens, seventh.
