Deli opens at Marketplace

Move over rotisserie chickens — you’ve got company.
Holyoke Marketplace opened its new deli department Monday, May 1, expanding the grab-and-go meal options to include fried chicken and lunch and dinner specials at the local grocery store.
Monday-Friday, the hot case at the deli, located in the space previously occupied by Bemis Drug, will feature breakfast burritos and bagel or croissant sandwiches starting at 7 a.m.
Beginning at about 11 a.m., the case will be stocked with rotisserie and fried chicken to take and go, as well as a daily lunch special that could be anything from cheeseburgers to Chinese to enchiladas.
By 4-5 p.m., larger dinner special portions meant for two to three people will be offered, showcasing pork chops, fettuccine alfredo, barbecue ribs and more throughout the workweek.
Side offerings in both the hot and cold cases are greatly expanded as well, with more homemade salads and wraps, cheesy potatoes, green bean casseroles, fries, jalapeño poppers and mashed potatoes in the new deli’s menu.
