CREP Zoom meeting scheduled June 25

Due to concerns about social distancing and the desire to get information to the public, the Colorado Farm Service Agency and the Republican River Water Conservation District will be co-hosting a virtual conference on the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 25.

During the 15-year CREP contract with FSA and the RRWCD, the well owner receives annual payments from both entities for the permanent retirement of well(s) used to irrigate the acres in the contract. In the first few years of the contract, the land formerly irrigated is revegetated with native grasses. This land cannot be dryland farmed or grazed during the term of the CREP contract.
