Cattle show set for Jan. 29-30 at pavilion

For the second year in a row, a local group is organizing Showdown on the Plains, a jackpot cattle show that provides an opportunity for kids from a multistate region to show their animals.

Check-ins for the event will begin at noon on Friday, Jan. 28, at the Bank of Colorado Pavilion at Phillips County Fairgrounds in Holyoke. On Saturday, Jan. 29, breeding heifers will kick things off at 10 a.m., followed by showmanship around 4 p.m. Market animals will compete Sunday, Jan. 30, beginning at 10 a.m.

Early entries are due Friday, Jan. 21, and other entries will be accepted until the day of the show. Entry forms are available online at the Showdown on the Plains Facebook page. This year’s judges will be Chisum Grund and Chase Ratliff.
