Area wheat harvest an improvement from last year

With the majority of wheat harvest already completed, 2021 is looking like an average crop — a welcome improvement to 2020’s less-than-ideal harvest.

Evan Fust, general manager at CHS Grainland, said the cooperative took in its first load July 1 and was about two-thirds of the way done as of Monday, July 12. He expected producers would be finishing up by the end of this week as long as the weather stays dry.
