Alex Vieselmeyer of Amherst was one of two people who represented Colorado at the 2021 National Junior Angus Showmanship Contest, held in conjunction with the National Junior Angus Show from July 15-17 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Fifty-two youth from across the country competed for top honors in the 55th annual event.

In Grand Island, Vieselmeyer was also presented with the Gold Award. This program is based on activities over a junior member’s entire career. Members who received their Bronze and Silver Awards prior to Jan. 1 of their year of eligibility as a junior member, and are currently in their final year of eligibility as a junior member, could apply for the Gold Award.

Additionally, Vieselmeyer received the Angus Foundation undergraduate $2,500 scholarship at last month’s show.
