3 CHS locations consolidate, form CHS High Plains

CHS’ three locations in Colorado — CHS Grainland in Holyoke, M&M Co-op in Yuma and CHS AIP in Haxtun — recently consolidated to form CHS High Plains.

A management structure change in the late fall of 2021 was a small task compared to what it began to spark ideas for. Producers began talking about consolidating all three locations under one name. This consolidation meant that all three locations would combine their payroll, patron accounts, board members, management teams and much more.

Combining payroll and patron accounts were some of the biggest challenges that all three locations faced in order to successfully consolidate. There were three separate payroll accounts to combine and thousands of patron accounts to combine. Many patrons use more than one of these locations, so combining multiple accounts was a large task.

When this idea was ready to go into action, they began the process of choosing a name that would fit all three locations. They wanted the name to not geographically define Yuma, Haxtun, Holyoke or even Colorado, as CHS also serves customers from Nebraska. It was agreed that all three CHS locations would be called CHS High Plains.

This consolidation has been a slow and steady process that is still coming into full effect. All board members have joined into one board. Jan. 1 marked the management team fully consolidating. April 1 was the day that all separate accounting systems combined into one accounting system.

General manager Evan Fust said Holyoke’s location will change its signs and anything else that says “CHS Grainland” over time.
