11 Phillips County youth show livestock at State Fair

    Eleven 4-H members from Phillips County showed livestock at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo last month, and they took home a slew of awards.
    Alex Vieselmeyer won reserve grand champion for his Angus breeding heifer, and Austin Vieselmeyer was the late junior yearling champion  for Angus breeding heifer. Isaiah Rueter, who showed rabbits and poultry, earned an impressive 11 awards.
    Showing market animals, Kaylee Camblin, Cash Weber and Alex Vieselmeyer were sale qualifiers.

Plumb earns all-state honors
    Brooklyn Plumb was also recognized at an award ceremony at the State Fair for making the Colorado 4-H junior all-state livestock judging team. This honor is the culmination of several livestock judging events earlier this year.
    There are 10 contests available throughout the spring, and each participant in the top 10 percent at each contest receives one point. To qualify for the all-state team, one must have earned at least three points.
