Holyoke beats Wray, falls to Limon in weekend tri
Rainy weather resulted in changes to the Holyoke High School baseball schedule in its final week of regular-season action. Where the Dragons were planning to play a doubleheader with Wray on Thursday and a single game with Limon on Sunday, they ended up finishing out the week with a tri with Wray and Limon instead.
The three teams played one another in Wray on Saturday, May 13. The Limon Badgers won both of their games, and Holyoke beat the Wray Eagles.
“I’m really proud of how we played as a whole in both games,” said Coach Jimmy French. “There were definitely some mistakes we can clean up and places we can improve, but we played well against two quality teams.”
The Dragons were scheduled to finish out the regular season Tuesday, May 16, with a doubleheader against Sedgwick County, the results of which helped determine the postseason bracket.
