|HHS splits with Haxtun, Wiggins to end regular-season v-ball play|

Holyoke’s varsity volleyball team went 1-1 on the road last week to close its regular season. The girls beat Wiggins Friday, Oct. 17, but lost to Haxtun Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The Lady Dragons finished the regular season with a 4-4 league record.

The Lady Dragons won their final game of the regular season, defeating the Wiggins Tigers in three sets, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.
“We served well, passed well, blocked well and hit well,” said coach Michelle Vieselmeyer. “It was a fun game. There was a lot more team unity and desire to win.”
Holyoke was able to get off to a good starting lead in the first set and maintained it to coast to the 25-18 win.
The second set was a little tighter throughout. Holyoke remained confident and took the set 25-20.
The third set got even closer, but Wiggins’ efforts weren’t enough. The Lady Dragons were able to hold off the Tigers to take the set and win the match 25-22.
