FBLA steps up at fall conference PDF Print E-mail

Holyoke FBLA students enjoyed another great day of “Stepping Up to the Challenge” Tuesday, Oct. 14, when they traveled to Greeley for the annual Fall Leadership Conference.

The theme of the conference was “Taking the Extra Step.” During this exciting day, members cycled through various workshops and discovered how to work together, follow sets of complex directions, communicate effectively, involve every member of a team toward a goal and engage in conversation and situations to make the most out of it.

FBLA officers had the opportunity to go through an “Officer Academy.” In this two-hour session, officers interacted with other officers from participating districts to uncode and decipher clues that would unlock a treasure chest. By creating smaller teams within teams, delegating tasks and using communication skills, the members were able to finish the activity and uncover a “lost diamond” from within the chest.
