Mouse races draw 250-person crowd PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Another successful mouse race is in the books as the Holyoke Wrestling Club in partnership with the Holyoke Swim Team reached all of their fundraising goals Friday, July 18 at the Phillips County Event Center.

Prior to the highly-anticipated races was a cajun boil prepared by Allen and Joyce Strong.

Colorado Auctioneer Hall of Fame member Lloyd Michael Jr. once again took on the responsibility of selling the 15 mice. The mice sold for between $750 and $1,720.

Gunther, purchased by Pete Mill, took home top honors, edging out Brad and Bev Young’s mouse, White Wheat Mouse, for first place.

After each race, those lucky enough to see their mouse take the checkered flag hollered with joy, such as those pictured from left, Brad Young, Carissa Mill, Gina Martin and Dake Hubbard.  —Enterprise photo
