|Dr. Cappello named to State Board of Health|

Tuesday, June 17, Gov. John Hickenlooper announced the appointment of Dr. Tony Cappello, public health director of the Northeast Colorado Health Department, to the State Board of Health.
The board is responsible for advising the executive director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on all matters relating to public health and helps determine policies for the department to follow in administering and enforcing the public health laws of the state.
Cappello, also a resident of the 4th Congressional District and a Republican, was appointed for a term expiring March 1, 2017.
“Public health policy and management is something I truly enjoy, and I’m honored to receive this opportunity,” said Cappello.
“This is a very exciting time in public health in regards to new legislation, and I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to make a difference for rural public health and rural America in general. I’m glad we have a voice that’s coming from northeast Colorado.”
