|Summer softball ends at league tournament|

Holyoke softball girls saw their summer season come to an end this week at the Border League Softball Tournament in Haxtun. Action began Monday, June 30, wrapping up Wednesday, July 2.
Both the 9-12 and the 13-16 age divisions completed the first round of play Monday afternoon. For the younger girls, Chappell, Neb., and Ogallala, Neb., earned first-round byes as the No. 1 and 2 seeded teams respectively. Sedgwick County came in ranked third, followed by Oshkosh, Neb., fourth, Holyoke fifth, and Haxtun sixth.
In the older division, Ogallala, Haxtun and Oshkosh automatically advanced to the semifinals as the first-, second- and third-ranked teams. Chappell pulled the fourth seed and Holyoke was No. 5.
