Fireworks, races on 4th of July
The annual fireworks show coordinated by Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department will light up the Holyoke sky Friday, July 4, southeast of City Park at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Prior to the fireworks display, Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke will be hosting racing action Thursday and Friday, July 3-4.
Thursday’s races will begin at 7 p.m. and include racing legend and 20-time World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series champion Steve Kinser. Tickets are still available for the 5 p.m. steak dinner meet and greet with Kinser, sponsored by S&W Auto Supply. Friday’s action will begin at 5 p.m.
Holyoke Swimming Pool will not be open on the 4th this year.
County looking for Fair queen candidates
An informational meeting for anyone interested in being the next Phillips County Fair queen or princesses is set for Thursday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Phillips County Event Center Ortner Room.
Girls age 15-20 are eligible for queen, and princesses can be age 10-14. For more information, call queen coordinator Vanessa Tharp at 970-580-2166.
Enterprise to close July 4, 10
The Holyoke Enterprise will be closed all day Friday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday.
The office will also be closed all day Thursday, July 10, for staff training.
