4-H livestock projects teach responsibility
How many of you value responsibility, especially in today’s youth? 4-H members enrolled in animal projects learn responsibility through the important job of caring for, feeding and handling their livestock/animal project.
Members learn that owning an animal may not always be the easiest task, but it is one that provides positive rewards and valuable life lessons at the end of the day.
Phillips County 4-H offers three different types of animal projects: market, breeding and pet/companion. All three of these options provide 4-H members with the opportunity of learning how to properly care for an animal.
One of the most important responsibilities for a market animal project member is the proper care and handling of an animal that will enter the food chain.
