Apex Shredding Inc. was in Holyoke Saturday, July 18, when community members were encouraged to take their boxes, bags or totes of papers to the Apex truck and watch their information get shredded.
Sponsored by First Pioneer National Bank of Holyoke, the Community Shred Day provided the opportunity to destroy documents through shredding, in order to prevent identity theft. Eric Pederson, pictured in center, explains the shredder to Amanda Crossland, administrative assistant at First Pioneer in Wray, pictured at left, and Tom Bennett, president of First Pioneer National Bank of Holyoke.
Pederson and his wife Ann, of Apex Shredding Inc., touted the benefits and security of putting shredded documents in a large unit, such as theirs, where the material is comingled with others’ documents.
