Keith Miller, a Revere High School graduate, was headed for an enviable position in the NFL—until the velvet-voiced gridiron star was serenaded by the opera.
Miller will be going home to perform in Ovid at the Harold Olson Gymnasium Sunday, Feb. 16 at 5 p.m.
Because Miller was instrumental in working with then Superintendent Sommerfeld in acquiring Revere’s first weight room and equipment, proceeds will be used to enhance the new RHS fitness room. For ticket information to the Feb. 16 event, call 970-463-5477 or 970-463-5414.
Miller’s rise in the rarified world of opera has been about as surprising as it gets. One of opera’s rising young stars, he has thrived in both worlds, going from the gridiron to one of opera’s most prestigious stages, the Metropolitan Opera.
Actually, surprising doesn’t come close to encompassing what Miller has accomplished in just seven years as a professional singer. He has sung in over 200 performances at the Met, often in new productions broadcast worldwide in the popular “The Met: Live in HD” series.
