Holyoke once again brought home champion honors from the annual Optimist Club Brain Bowl, defending their title from last year’s third- and fourth-grade competition.
Three teams from Holyoke Elementary School traveled to Fort Morgan Saturday, Feb. 1 for this academic competition with 20 other teams from northeast Colorado.
The Holyoke students participated in one written round and four oral rounds of questions. Each team consisted of six members who answered questions in the areas of literature, science, math, history, technology, sports, spelling, grammar, current events and trivia.
At the conclusion of the regular rounds, the competition was narrowed to the top two teams who participated in the championship round.
