Colorado wheat farmers are invited to attend and participate in the annual county business meetings and elections jointly sponsored by the Colorado Wheat Administrative Committee and the Colorado Association of Wheat Growers.
The business meetings and elections will be held Jan. 6-9 at eight different locations. The business meeting for wheat producers of Phillips, Sedgwick and Logan counties will be held at the Haxtun Community Center at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7.
CAWG President Mark Linnebur, a wheat farmer from Byers, strongly encourages all wheat farmers to attend.
“County elections are your chance to speak out or even become involved in the organization,” Linnebur said. “This is a very important year for CWAC because of the upcoming vote on reapproval of the two-cent assessment in March. CAWG will discuss state and national legislative issues from last year that affect wheat farmers, as well as issues we anticipate in the upcoming legislative session.
