In Tuesday’s action, Holyoke moved the ball well offensively and knocked down open shots, but in the end, could not keep pace with Brush as the Dragons lost 52-59.
Logan Tharp and Tito Fierro each knocked down a pair of 3-point shots in the first quarter to fuel a 16-point quarter for the Dragons. Brush, who finished in third last year in 3A, knocked down nine 2-point shots in the quarter to take an 18-16 lead.
Tanner Smith helped keep Holyoke close in the second quarter, scoring all seven of his points in the eight-minute span. Brush added 10 points to their total for a 28-25 lead at half.
