Lady Dragon hoopsters enter holiday break at 2-3 PDF Print E-mail

After a road loss to the 3A Brush squad Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Lady Dragon basketball team improved to 2-1 against conference opponents by taking down Sedgwick County Saturday, Dec. 21 at home.

Holyoke enters the holiday break with a 2-3 record with wins against conference foes Haxtun and Sedgwick County. Conference games count toward district seeding on the second meeting between the two teams.

Holyoke 47, Brush 66

Foul troubles derailed what was a close first-half game Tuesday night for the Lady Dragons. Holyoke stuck close with the Lady Beetdiggers through the first quarter, trailing 11-14 heading into the second period.

Maddie King helped kickstart the HHS offense with a pair of 3-pointers as Holyoke outscored Brush 13-8 in the quarter to take a 24-22 lead at half.

Coach Arlan Scholl mentioned that the first half of play was some of the best ball the girls have played all season.
