|Red Cross seeks community heroes|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
American Red Cross will be celebrating 100 years of service in Colorado and Wyoming in 2014. As part of its Century Celebration, the Red Cross in northern Colorado will honor community heroes at its Celebrating a Century of Community Heroes event on Wednesday, April 23—and they need the community’s help in identifying those heroes.
Red Cross is seeking nominations of those who have performed heroic acts, saved lives or performed outstanding service to their country or community. The Celebrating Community Heroes event seeks to highlight stories that exemplify the spirit of the mission of American Red Cross—to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies.
With the 100-year anniversary, Red Cross is looking for individuals and organizations who have made a difference through their acts of courage.
Nominations may be submitted online at www.RedCross.org/Colorado-nominate. The deadline to submit nominations for the April 23 event is Wednesday, Jan. 15. However, they are always looking for the stories of community heroes who have saved a life or gone above and beyond to prevent or alleviate human suffering in the face of an emergency.
