Lady Dragons fall to Wray PDF Print E-mail

In make-up action rescheduled from Sept. 14, the HHS softball girls traveled to Wray Tuesday, Oct. 1, where they endured two losses, 5-6 and 13-20.

“In the first game, the girls played very tough, and it was difficult to see them come out on the losing side,” said coach Ashley Clayton.

“They played the best defensive game of the whole season,” added Clayton. She noted they’ve been emphasizing the need to put what they practice into play during the game and they did this at Wray.

In the second game, the Dragons did a better job adjusting to the pitcher and getting timely hits, said Clayton.

The Dragons put one run on the board in each of the first and third innings to hold a 2-0 lead until the fifth.
