|McConachie a mainstay at HHS|

In a community full of loyal Holyoke High School Dragon supporters, few people have shown the level of unfaltering dedication to Holyoke’s athletic programs as Paul McConachie.
With a genuine appreciation for the effort Holyoke teams put forth, McConachie has been anything but a fairweather fan as his attendance rate for home and away games shames almost everyone but the coaches.
Paul McConachie is a familiar face around Holyoke
He can be spotted in the fall announcing lineups for volleyball matches and on the visitors’ sideline at home football games as a member of the chain crew. In the winter he has become the voice of Dragon basketball as he introduces players and makes announcements throughout game nights along with running the scoreboard. He has also recently found time to take on announcing duties at wrestling duals and peewee wrestling tournaments as well.
McConachie estimates that in the past five years, he has yet to miss a home basketball game. There may have been a few instances where he was unable to announce the lineups at Saturday games due to work, but insists he can’t remember a time that he didn’t make it to the gym as a spectator.
