Family Ed to host new reg. night Monday

Phillips County Family Education Services’ new registration night is Monday, Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Phillips County Event Center. Ice cream, free child care, a presentation, tours and registration for the 2013-14 school year will all be a part of the evening.

Registration for classes includes ESL, GED, early childhood and PCFES’ after-school program. All classes start Tuesday, Aug. 27. For questions, please contact Trisha Herman at 854-2595.

 

School seeks instruments

Because the Holyoke school band program is growing, they are running out of school-owned instruments to provide for students. HVFD handles calls for fires

The Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department responded to two false alarms in the past week, both of which were at Regent Park. Sirens rang the first time Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 11:25 a.m. and again Thursday, Aug. 15 at 7:25 a.m.

A car fire was reported at the fairgrounds Friday, Aug. 16 at 7:10 p.m. HVFD assisted the HPD with putting out the fire.
