|Holyoke boys' golf season swings into action in Brush|

Holyoke golfers made their season debut Thursday, Aug. 8 as the boys’ team traveled to Brush for the first competition of the year.
Gage Garnas carded a 79 to lead the Dragons, one stroke behind tournament winner Ross Galmon of Elizabeth. After 18 holes, Garnas and Bryce Needens of Brush were tied for second, but a tie-breaker gave the edge to Needens with Garnas placing third.
Tristan Sullivan shot a 99 and Devin Wilber turned in a score of 103 for a team score of 281, good enough for a fifth-place finish for Holyoke. Daniel Swisher shot a 108 for the Dragons as well.
Elizabeth won the tournament with a team score of 244.
Holyoke coach Stefan Betley said the tournament went well and that he was pleased with the performance of his players.
