|Preparedness Fair set in Sterling Aug. 17|

Families are encouraged to attend the Northeast Colorado Community Preparedness Fair Saturday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m.-noon. It is sponsored by the Sterling Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 513 N. 7th Ave. in Sterling, in cooperation with the Logan County Office of Emergency Management, American Red Cross, Sterling Regional Medical Center and Sterling Fire Department.
Free refreshments will be served at this fun and educational event for the whole family.
Topics that will be covered include creating a family emergency plan, reverse 911 emergency calls, crisis planning for the elderly and vulnerable, caring for pets in a crisis situation, water storage and purification, emergency car kits, food storage and preparation, 72-hour emergency kits and more.
