To honor Luke Sprague, who recently had to have part of his leg amputated after sustaining injuries from a farming accident, the Holyoke Elementary School hosted a Bonfils blood drive Wednesday, July 24 at the Lions Den.
Thirty-four donors attended the event and 29 units of blood were collected.
Among those that donated blood was Luke’s father, Alan Sprague. Alan, pictured in the seat with Luke on his lap, was joined by his children, pictured from left, front row, Mason and Emma Marie; and back row, Alec, Gage and his wife Emma.
Holyoke Elementary will possibly host another blood drive in honor of Luke in August or September. In order to schedule another drive, at least 20 donors will be needed.
